Valve Seat Reconstruction with a Welding Robot

Almost every safety valve has to be reconstructed after a certain period of utilisation. Now, a new procedure replaces the present manual reconstruction: The valve seat reconstruction of the hardfacing will be performed by robots.
To that end, Bopp & Reuther has developed a procedure for the hardfacing with a welding robot with universal location facility for turning on a lathe and welding. This cost-efficient procedure can be utilised for valves, butterfly valves and gate valves of all manufacturers and provides highest quality.

The valves can be repaired in mounted condition which has been previously impossible owing to the high temperatures or because they were inaccessible.

Due to the high efficiency of this method standstill periods are highly decreased and the reconstruction process is running faster.

This new procedure is the safest method of reconstruction as all welding characteristics are detected and adjusted computerised. The processes themselves are reproducible to 100 % and therefore provide a constant high level of quality of the welding operations.
