Carl Reuther, together with Carl Bopp, founds a special factory for manufacturing pumps and heavy-duty valves.

Bopp & Reuther supplies 60% of the world's water gate valves. A water supply plant large enough to supply an entire city can be produced at the factory in the Waldhof district of Mannheim.

Entering measurement technology opened the way to the development of the oval wheel meter. With this high-precision liquid volume meter, Bopp & Reuther engineers succeed in inventing a basic measuring device, which is still highly regarded and widely used today in many different versions and applications.

Introduction of safety valves including patented pneumatic control.

Introduction of control valves with and without safety function.

Division into 3 parts: Water – Measuring – Safeguarding and Control.
